В июне впервые на  персональной выставке, показал в Морской галерее свое творчество Игорь Ивченко. Выставка так и называлась- «Дебют», хотя его работы уже много лет выставлялись в галерее На Уютной. Скульптор самоучка, не получивший специального образования, Игорь, получил замечательную раскрутку благодаря галерее. Мы представляли его работы на выставке по Судоходству на Морвокзале, где его заметил и оценил директор представительства Австрийских авиалиний в Одессе, господин Гюнтер Нишлаг, именно он и выступил спонсором настоящей экспозиции. Но Игорь, а я еще вернусь к рассказу о том, как много сделала для него галерея попозже, настолько вырос в своем самомнении, что зазнался и стал на столько повышать стоимость своих работ, что галерее стало не интересно представлять его.

 Это была только его  первая выставка, затем еще и еще, и в Морской галерее, и участие в биеннале Марина, в котором Игорь получил специальный приз учрежденный голландским  галеристом  Хенком ван Остерхаут, приглашенным нами в качестве члена жюри.  Хенк оплатил не только поездку Игоря и его супруги в Голландию, он заказал Игорю работу, а так же оплатил им путешествие на выходные дни в Париж! 

Реклама двигатель искусства - в том же году мы продали его шахматный набор в Голландию. Для того времени его уровень был соразмерен с амбициями галереи. В галерее было много разных поделок, керамики, вышивок, скульптуры, она была насыщена атмосферой созидания и это несомненно было приятно всем и зрителям и нам, тем кто там работал. А работы  Игоря были самобытны, но теперь после посещения Африки, да и других стран, я понимаю, что в мире так много талантливых людей, продающих и не за такие большие деньги, а просто для того, что бы прожить, стоят и торгуют своим творчеством просто на улицах.  Я и тогда говорила Игорю об этом, пыталась просить не повышать стоимости, но ничего не вышло, пришлось расстаться.
На этой выставке впервые были представлены те легендарные шахматы, которые позже укралили, благодаря нам, интерьер голландского особняка.

In June, for the first time at a solo exhibition, Igor Ivchenko showed his work in the Marine Gallery. The exhibition was called “Debut”, аlthough his works have been exhibited for many years in the gallery on Uyutnaya. 

The self-taught sculptor, who did not receive a special education, Igor, received a wonderful promotion thanks to the gallery. We presented his work at the exhibition on Shipping at the Sea Terminal, where he was noticed and appreciated by the director of the representative office of the Austrian Airlines in Odessa, Mr. Gunter Nischlag, and he was the one who sponsored this exposition. But Igor, and I will return to the story of how much the gallery did for him later, grew so self-conceited that it became arrogant and began to increase the cost of its work so much that the gallery was not interested in representing it. 

This was only his first exhibition, then again and again, and in the Maritime Gallery, and participation in the Marina Biennale, in which Igor received a special prize established by the Dutch gallery owner Henk van Osterhout, whom we invited as a member of the jury.
 Henk not only paid for the trip of Igor and his wife to Holland, he ordered Igor to work, and also paid them a weekend trip to Paris! Advertising is the engine of art - in the same year, we sold its chess set to Holland. For that time, its level was commensurate with the ambitions of the gallery. 

The gallery had a lot of different crafts, ceramics, embroideries, sculptures, it was saturated with the atmosphere of creation, and this was undoubtedly pleasant for everyone and the audience and for us who worked there. And Igor’s work was original, but now after visiting Africa, and other countries, I understand that there are so many talented people in the world who sell, and not for such a lot of money, but just to live, they stand and sell their work just on the streets. I then told Igor about this, tried to ask not to increase the cost, but nothing came of it, I had to leave.
The legendary chess, which later stole thanks to us, the interior of the Dutch mansion, was first presented at this exhibition.
